All Saints is a church plant in Midtown Memphis that began in February of 2001. It started with interested Midtown Memphis residents who had a desire to
see the gospel of Jesus Christ transform the community they call home. Midtown Memphis is typical of many urban areas in that it is both ethnically and socioeconomically
diverse. It also houses universities, museums, medical and allied health schools, technical colleges and a diverse and educated arts community.
Along with such great diversity, Memphis also owns its share of problems, most notably racial tension, segregation, and economic disparity among these diverse
communities. As a result of this, and because of our passion for Midtown, we hold a positive view of the city as the most strategic place for Christians to live,
grow and minister. We need the city as much as the city needs us.
All Saints’ vision is not just for a great church, but also for a great city. We exist to help the City of God grow in the City of Memphis, making it a stronger and greater city than it is now. We are committed
to the peace of Memphis and we see church growth and city growth as symbiotically related. Consequently, we desire to be a loving community
where Jesus Christ is lifted up, people are accepted, relationships are real, and individuals are mobilized to help and heal the needs of our communities.
The name “All Saints” has historically been associated with the Catholic and Episcopal traditions. It indicates a celebration of the named saints within those Christian traditions. We have chosen the name in order to refl ect our conviction that God declares every person who comes into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ a saint. We have received the perfect righteousness of Christ and stand
before Him no longer condemned, but loved and accepted as perfect in Him. We also acknowledge the encompassing nature of our name. “All” does not
indicate everyone without discretion, but all types of people – socially, racially, ethnically, culturally – are accepted into the community of the Church through
their profession of Christ. All people are welcomed to come and hear and receive the free offer of the gospel and the free extension of grace by Christ. We invite
everyone to come without hindrance or inhibition and see that through the compelling message of the gospel of Jesus Christ we are all saints in Him.
We live in Midtown and love this community and have a desire to see our neighbors share in the experience of a real relationship with Christ. When you know what God has done for you, you can't help but to tell others. That is what we are doing.
We are excited to be part of Midtown Memphis. It is our hope that All Saints will be the place that you can come to experience life, ask your questions, and grow in an understanding of what God is doing and what He wants from us.
